how to hide and unhide sheets in google sheets

IN SUMMARY

In Google Sheets, you can easily hide or unhide individual sheets to keep your workbook organized. Hiding sheets helps declutter your view, while unhiding allows you to access hidden data when needed.

Hiding Sheets

In the context menu that appears, select 'Hide sheet'. The sheet will be hidden from view, but its data will remain intact.

Select the sheet you want to hide, then press 'Alt + Shift + 0' (zero) on Windows or 'Command + Option + 0' on Mac. This will instantly hide the selected sheet.

Hold down the 'Ctrl' (Windows) or 'Command' (Mac) key and click on the sheet tabs you want to hide. Then, right-click on any of the selected tabs and choose 'Hide sheet' from the context menu.

Unhiding Sheets

In the context menu, hover over 'Unhide sheet' to reveal a list of hidden sheets. Select the sheet(s) you want to unhide.

Press 'Alt + Shift + 0' (zero) on Windows or 'Command + Option + 0' on Mac while on any visible sheet. This will open a dialog box where you can select the hidden sheets to unhide.

Right-click on any visible sheet tab, then select 'Unhide sheet' > 'Unhide all sheets'. This will make all hidden sheets visible again.

Additional Tips

Right-click on a hidden sheet tab and select 'Protect sheet' to prevent accidental unhiding or editing of the sheet's data.

Right-click on a sheet tab and choose 'Tab color' to assign a color to the tab. This can help you quickly identify hidden sheets when unhiding them.
