how to sort and freeze rows in google sheets

IN SUMMARY

In Google Sheets, you can sort data by selecting a column or row and clicking the 'Sort' option under the 'Data' menu. To freeze rows or columns, go to 'View' > 'Freeze' and choose the rows or columns you want to keep visible while scrolling.

Sorting Data

Click on the column header or row number to select the entire column or row. You can also select a range of cells by dragging your cursor over them.

In the 'Sort range' dialog box, you can choose to sort by one or more columns or rows. You can also specify whether to sort in ascending or descending order.

The 'Sort range' dialog box offers additional options, such as sorting by text, numbers, or dates, and choosing a custom sort order. You can also choose to sort header rows or columns separately.

Freezing Rows and Columns

Under the 'Freeze' option, you can choose to freeze rows, columns, or both. This will keep the selected rows or columns visible while you scroll through the rest of the sheet.

When you select 'Freeze rows' or 'Freeze columns', you can specify the number of rows or columns you want to freeze. For example, if you choose to freeze 2 rows, the first two rows will remain visible while scrolling.

To unfreeze rows or columns, go back to the 'View' menu and select 'Unfreeze rows' or 'Unfreeze columns'. This will remove the freeze and allow you to scroll freely through the entire sheet.
